Lydia Grace Doula

DONA International Trained Postpartum Doula

You deserve to be nurtured, supported and empowered during your postpartum experience.

I would love to help!

Hiya, I’m Lydia!

This is a picture of my son and me. I had him in the spring of 2025, after moving to West Harlem from San Diego during my third trimester. (But I’m originally from the UK!)

Before he arrived, I thought I was as prepared as I could be. I read the books, did the research, and felt like I knew what to expect. But postpartum was a completely different experience. It challenged me in ways I never imagined, and I quickly realised I wasn't the only one who felt that way.

That season is what led me to postpartum doula work. I knew I wanted to be there for other parents as they adjusted to life with a new baby—not because I have all the answers, but because I know how much it means to have someone in your corner.

Having a baby isn't something we're meant to do alone. If I can help lighten the load, offer reassurance, or simply be a calm presence during those early weeks, I'd be honoured to be part of your village. We aren’t supposed to do this alone!

FAQs

What is a Postpartum Doula?

1

A postpartum doula is someone who offers physical, informational and emotional support during the fourth trimester.

What do you offer?

2

As a postpartum doula, I can help ensure you are well nourished by preparing comforting meals and nourishing snacks, assisting with light household tasks, supporting your feeding journey—whatever that may look like—caring for your newborn while you rest, and providing compassionate, non-judgemental support during this transformative time. I can also spend time with older siblings, offer evidence-based education, and connect you with trusted resources and referrals when needed. Most importantly, I will be your biggest cheerleader, reminding you that you are doing an incredible job and ensuring you never feel alone on your postpartum journey.

How does scheduling work?

3

First and foremost, we'll have a prenatal meeting so we can get to know one another, discuss your hopes for the postpartum period, and create a plan that feels right for your family.

Once your baby has arrived, simply let me know within 24 hours, and I'll schedule our first visit. From there, we'll arrange the remaining visits based on what works best for both of us and the number of visits we decided on.

My regular availability is Friday through Monday. Weekday visits are also possible with advance notice.
